Detecting and estimating coherence based on coherence witnesses

چکیده
Quantum coherence has wide-ranging applications from quantum thermodynamics to metrology, channel discrimination and even biology. Thus, detecting quantifying are two fundamental problems in resource theory. Here, we introduce feasible methods detect estimate the by constructing witnesses for any finite-dimensional states. Our coherent states testing whether expectation value of witness is negative or not. Two typical proposed discussed based on our witness-constructing method, which also used robustness coherence, $l_1$-norm $l_2$-norm measures. Furthermore, compare one with a previously introduced witness, proving that strictly stronger than previous witness. We present an application metrology task, unknown parameter measuring

Occlusion Coherence: Detecting and Localizing Occluded Faces
The presence of occluders significantly impacts object recognition accuracy. However, occlusion is typically treated as an unstructured source of noise and explicit models for occluders have lagged behind those for object appearance and shape. In this paper we describe a hierarchical deformable part model for face detection and landmark localization that explicitly models part occlusion. The pr...
متن کاملOn Anytime Coherence-Based Reasoning
A great deal of research has been devoted to nontrivial reasoning in inconsistent knowledge bases. Coherence-based approaches proceed by a consolidation operation which selects several consistent subsets of the knowledge base and an entailment operation which uses classical implication on these subsets in order to conclude. An important advantage of these formalisms is their flexibility : conso...
متن کاملDetecting Nonlinearity in Datawith Long Coherence
We consider the limitations of two techniques for detecting nonlinearity in time series. The rst technique compares the original time series to an ensemble of surrogate time series that are constructed to mimic the linear properties of the original. The second technique compares the forecasting error of linear and nonlinear predictors. Both techniques are found to be problematic when the data h...
متن کاملIndividual Coherence and Group Coherence
Paradoxes of individual coherence (e.g., the preface paradox for individual judgment) and group coherence (e.g., the doctrinal paradox for judgment aggregation) typically presuppose that deductive consistency is a coherence requirement for both individual and group judgment. In this paper, we introduce a new coherence requirement for (individual) full belief, and we explain how this new approac...
متن کاملDetecting Cooperativity between Transcription Factors Based on Functional Coherence and Similarity of Their Target Gene Sets
In eukaryotic cells, transcriptional regulation of gene expression is usually achieved by cooperative transcription factors (TFs). Therefore, knowing cooperative TFs is the first step toward uncovering the molecular mechanisms of gene expression regulation. Many algorithms based on different rationales have been proposed to predict cooperative TF pairs in yeast. Although various types of ration...
